I'd like to dedicate this page in memory of Kurt Cobain. Kurt is my hero because he was his own person and really didn't give a shit what other people thought of him. He expressed himself by the way he looked and through the music he wrote. Kurt helped keep "REAL" music alive in a time when most of the music in the world was trendy and mainstream. Although Nirvana did eventually go big the members all stayed true and didn't sell out to the corporate cash cow.

Kurt had a troubled childhood which drove him to a world of sometimes poverty, drugs and most of all unhappiness. I believe writing songs was the best therapy he could have as an outlet. The song "Something in the Way" was written at a time when he had ran away from home and was living under a bridge. Listening to the lyrics and the music itself can help you understand what he was feeling.

The "grunge" movement helped launch Kurt and his friends into the band known as Nirvana. They never expected the fame that would come their way. The happiest time was playing local clubs and giving to their true fans. The records, concert tours, publicity and money made in the end was the downfall of Kurt and his friends. Too much, too fast is a good expression to use. I believe they felt torn, trying to please everyone but themselves. Kurt married and had a beautiful baby girl. At the time of his death my opinion is he must have been at an all time low. I'm not sure I can ever believe suicide was the real crime committed. He had too much to live for, especially his child, who he adored. Since he had no real parental influence why would he have wanted his little girl to grow up without that also. The truth may not have been told about his last day on earth.

True fans of Nirvana still love and buy the music and memorabilia. Radio stations still play the songs today that Kurt performed. He will always be alive in his music. It has a style that truly will never be copied, though some have tried.

We can never say goodbye to Kurt. He is a legend and will always be a hero to me.
